I know little about JVM, but I've gathered that WASM cold starts are far quicker because WASM can be incrementally compiled* as bytes are streamed into edge services. Cold start time is king when almost every user is using a different

Since the WASM runtime doesn't have to worry about resource access violations or memory corruption, it doesn't need a VM or container. This means WASM can start faster without needing any additional security wrappers. I'm doi

Binaries require a container or VM sandboxing in order to run. Java bytecode, afaik, has a slow cold start issue and still requires some additional sandboxing afaik. WASM can cold start fast because the runtime API is natively restrictive t

I'm less interested in WASM in-browser than I am for WASM-powered services in edge computing (Cloudflare workers, Wasmer Edge, etc). Without WASM, you're always going to suffer cold start issues due to containers or other runtime

Fastly is indeed fast. I did find the realized cost to be 10x more expensive that Cloudflare for my CDN/video/compute needs, and I found the Fastly sales team to be a tad aggressive. However the performance is usually better than

How does wxw and gtk roughly compare? I have liked the UI of Audacity moderately more than Inkscape, but I don't know where framework versus implementation is at play.

It's a high wage, indeed. However, it's not a sustainable workload from the stories I've heard, and ultimately people are feeling the effects of the system at its over peak capacity.

At first pass, I'm impressed with the multi region/tenant built-in support. I take it that changing a region is as changing the table row key. I wonder though about this strategy strictly place user's data as an entry into th

I've been learning Astro and considering it for production. So far, it's really help simplify web app development as there's virtually no frontend logic to build.
