What’s also bizarre is that it’s probably funding their local department and not some general state account, further skewing incentives. It’s like the Police has a letter of Marque to do piracy. [0] Except that means they are at war with yo

It may be cruel compared to some ways, but not in comparison to torture for hours. I have read other accounts of "Halal" slaughter in industrial settings. Basically a big machine built to cut the throat, but in practice it's

I don't usually agree with this line of thinking, but just a thought experiment - if you equate 10 thousand pigs to one human being, these people just in cold blood tortured several humans worth to death, to make some money.

Not trying to equate pigs to humans people at all - however, see this as a parable: If these were people being tortured to death, would you say that monetarily incentivizing torturers to move away from this model is the only real way? It ma

Even if nobody in his position acted as unwise, it would barely offset, in society at large, the swaths of people who never had a chance. So to answer your question - in aggregate, fairly little.

Yeah I forgot about that weird US thing. Funding local Police with tickets is quaint, almost absurd.

I can't really remember the case, but there was a standoff where a (white) person returned fire against law enforcement after they shot his dog. In the end I think one law enforcement officer was killed on one side, and that guys wife,

Tickets should be proportional to income and wealth. Like in Finland. As of now, it's a disproportionate tax on poor people, and the cops know it.
