All that really matters is that the red and blue wavelengths are far out enough to not overlap with the magenta dye layer on the film or the green channel on the camera sensor.

"sensitivity" or density? The light source wavelengths don't need to align with the density peaks of the film, they just need to be far enough apart to isolate the individual dye layers and avoid the overlap between the camer

Author here, I was curious about this too since I would have expected most film scanners from the 90s-2000s to use incandescent light sources if high-CRI light was really the way to go. Minilabs that made direct optical prints to RA-4 paper
