I think this is one of the best comments on the thread. Most are about setting restrictions that, at best, will lead to the kids finding a way around them. If you set restrictions, your kids will almost certainly find ways around them. Mayb

As a data point on the scale of internships, Amazon hired approximately 15,000 interns last summer (not including winter interns). While I don't have a number for how many get full time offers, a large portion do since the internship s

I don’t think inclusive pricing and the cost of goods are necessarily linked, there are many other reasons goods and services could be more expensive in NZ.

I think the optics are bad but the logic is sound. EVs don’t pay gas tax like ICE vehicles do, so it should even out in the end.

Yep. They’re trying to drop the price as well—users on an annual Legacy Professional plan have been given unlimited searches again (which is the $10/mo pricing). Really hoping this is sustainable because Kagi is night-and-day for me co

The problem isn’t with the kids either, we shouldn’t be punishing kids for the wrongs of their parents.

I believe it’s at least stored on the EMV chip: if you tap a credit card to a flipper zero you’re able to read the full card number and expiration date, and contactless is just over-the-air EMV as I understand it.

I was able to get a credit card with a relatively low limit ($1200) as my first one, partly because I had a higher than average income during school as a private tutor. Many people do get secured cards if they are on a low income though. Th

I think it depends who you ask. If you watch most populist speeches, it’s all in the performance. How they move their hands, their bodies, they create an almost theatrical narrative by how they get loud and quiet throughout the speech. You

I think fiction has a place in education for sure, but I think nonfiction, especially longer nonfiction reads (not textbooks, something less dry), should have an equal or slightly larger presence than fiction. My favorite english class was

My thinking as well, it’s very similar to how the first Apple Watch was rolled out: appointment for a “fitting” with a device that was eventually completely overhauled (so much as to call the v1 the “series 0” due to how different the v2 wa

Typically for devices like this there are off-device authentication options such as “enter the code ABCD on aka.ms/xba” or you can always fallback to magic link which still doesn’t require storing a password. Passwords won’t be going a

The boilerplate is nice for “a vue project” but it starts to fail when you want “a vue+ts project that includes our internal components library, auth, terraform, uses tailwind, etc.” It doesn’t take long to set this up by hand, but automati

I started noticing this recently as I’ve been making it a point to look around more at my surroundings while I walk. So, so many people touch their phones while they’re driving. Many hold it in their hands the entire time they drive. I live

Maybe “months-long” was hyperbole, but the (former) CEO of ERCOT has stated that it would take weeks, if not longer, to do a black start of the grid. I’m inclined to believe that as a baseline since statements like that make him personally

Considering that this lack of regulation resulted in Texas being only ”seconds and minutes” from a months-long blackout in 2021, I disagree that it is a good idea. https://www.texastribune.org/2021/02/18/texas
