Some think that if white people had been a dark colour, photography of dark skin would have been a priority, and the technology would have been developed accordingly.

In northern Cape York (Australia) I have several friends who cannot be successfully photographed because their skin is so dark that cameras are unable to resolve their facial features. I don't expect facial recognition to be much use

I think the world is fast-tracking to hell, right now. Le Guin's protagonists know spiritual effort and reward, and her novels encourage me to believe that there's more, and better, to be gained in life than material gain at the e

There's so much to say, that there's nothing to say. Except that I've known so many lonely men, like myself, and that the only thing that helps me is to make others' real happiness the goal of my own life.

There the piece suggests that KCl conduction is sufficient to enable the electric- acoustic effect, and brine is sea water, which also conducts. So maybe a matrix of sensitive microphones in the sea can detect the direction of a radio signa

Interesting. Then I suppose a broadband RF detector can be made by aligning a tube of brine towards a source. Alternatively a 3D microphone array could be employed in an ocean. External noise floor probably sets the maximum sensitivity, bu
