Sounds perfectly reasonable. Apple only cares about the data in aggregate. They don’t need to track individual users. An advertiser, on the other hand, wants to know your age, sex, location and what you hard for breakfast.

I’m very perplexed about the reasoning. Aside from the compiling takes time issue, the rest sounds like trolling. If the code was organized in a way which is inefficient and confusing, I fail to see why checking types at runtime instead of

Just use Typescript static types where it is useful. If you access a bunch of JSON objects and you don’t need the typing, you can always declare as ‘any’ and move on. At the end of the day those type exist in JavaScript. If you access ‘firs

Async communication is suitable to resolve some kind of issues. But it has two drawbacks: participants need to be competent at writing and reading prose (it’s harder than it sounds) and even with the best of care your ideas can easily be mi

Yeah. So basically wasted space. Seriously can you do a Visual Studio or Photoshop UI with this? I hate the fisher price mode for the control panels on Win10 (which I guess is made using WinUI). It’s so much wasteful of space and half the o

Indeed. I was wrong to assume Apple would not have yet another XML Parser somewhere else :) In that case it would only work with side loaded Apps signed with enterprise and developer certificates. I stand corrected. That being said I wonder

It would have worked and passed through the App checks. It’s not like the App is using private APIs. Now that Apple is aware of this class of bug, they may add automated checks to the plist files containing a super strict XML parser.

You’re missing the point: - AppStore or not, you should not be able to access this file in an app. The exploit (plist parsing bug) is about breaking out of the sandbox and getting the permission to access system files (and much more!). - Al

I’m amazed by how vague this law is. Basically it all depends on what the National Commission decides later on. It could be as simple as a checkbox or some kind of crazy filter database thing... who knows... no doubt it’ll keep changing a
