This sounds nice but what does a block chain offer to prove content wasn't ai generated?

It's not like microservices don't also give you chances to mess your data up. It's hard to do transactions across boundaries, you have to deal with eventual consistency, sometimes there is no single source of truth. I struggl

A distributed monolith isn't based on how many services you have, a better question is, how many services do you need to redeploy/update to make a change. Yes, by the time you get to thousands of services you hopefully have moved

Is it extra work though, it's not like backend engineers sit around not doing anything because they don't have FE work to do.

Apple made more than 100 billion on iPhone sales in the first half of 2023 and the marginal cost of an update is essentially 0, so what your saying doesn't make sense.

It seems they don't want it to be mandatory because people will likely fill it with nonsense, as your already suggesting, which is worse for them than it not being there. I don't know what the screen reader does, presumably tells

Nobody has stigmatized engines, people are trying to reduce emissions because the greatest body of knowledge we have access to (science) suggests we should.

A lot of the time getting things done more quickly equates to creating a mess that will cost you more in the long run. That's why it's called tech debt, it accrues interest.
