Most common in my world? Not checking return codes. Or check return codes and logging "there was an error" rather than using errno. A couple uncommon ones: for (float x = 0.0; x < 3,5; x += 0.1) {...} if (flag == TRUE) {...} (TRUE was #

A dozen years ago a few of us interviewed this guy, thought he was a good fit. When we went to check in with our boss to see if we could hire him, she turned him down. Why? "He seemed kind of geeky."

According to a friend that just got a new work laptop, Windows XP is still standard issue at IBM. I imagine plenty of other large companies are in the same position.

I had one male coworker ask a female coworker what bra size she was. (He was shopping for implants for his now ex-wife.) Awesome. She went into an empty office and cried.

My kid's $69 DVD player has a USB port. I don't expect it to support a TV tuner, but it works with any FAT32 storage I've stuck in it.

Anyone remember a really old free game that came on floppies (5.25")? I think it was from BusinessWeek and came out around 1989. You ran Microsoft for 5 years and tried to maximize your profits (or share value). I remember that the best I c

They only mention charging through the 30-pin port on the HDMI dongle. I wonder if any other 30-pin accessories will work when the HDMI mirroring dongle is attached?

All our projectors at work have DVI input so a simple HDMI to DVI adapter would make it work. But more and more lately I see big LCD TVs on meeting room walls instead of projectors. Those almost always have HDMI inputs.

I've never seen a Microsoft tag in the wild either. I've seen QR codes in almost a dozen places. Most of those were a Google Places link, but a local history museum uses them for links to an audio tour at each exhibit.
