Teachers don't take on the financial risk of failing or spend 6-12 months teaching before they ever know if they'll be paid for it.

I tried Basecamp and some iOS todo list tools, but in the end, I have one Google Doc with lists of tasks. I should dump Google for Evernote (better mobile support and less connection issues) but I once had a sync issue on Evernote and lost

There certainly is. I know from how well our iOS apps chart based on their sales numbers that there must be a huge long tail making nearly zero. 10 paid downloads a day is enough to break the top 1000 in many categories, so that leaves 20-7

Right. I'd much rather have an Asus Transformer style Windows 8 tablet + keyboard dock / second battery. Hopefully they'll come with more storage and battery time than the Surface Pro. Plus they'll likely be in the major retailers rather th

I saw a geo-targeted Facebook post yesterday telling me (and everyone in Florida) to come to the Microsoft Store to check out the Surface RT. Problem is, the nearest store is a 4 hour round trip. They have exactly one store in Florida, in O

It's a little more like MS-DOS clones vs. the Apple II line. The Apple II had an early lead in the personal computer market, especially for businesses. The IBM PC eventually took over, but mostly thanks to third party PCs running licensed M

It sounded like the same exact Windows Phone Connector as the current one. It's not bad, but I've got a lot of music, movies, etc. outside of iTunes that I'd like to sync to the device.

I haven't submitted a Windows 8 app yet (soon) but I've had apps rejected by Apple and Nook. I have to say that Apple's rejections so far have been very clear on what needs to change. Nook has been 50-50. One rejection was clear, but anothe

I love my Nexus 7. I have multiple Windows Phone, iOS and Android devices (and develop for all three), but for me, the shared, non-sandboxed file system on Android is the huge productivity win (despite the security risks). It's very easy to

I constantly talk to "normals" that don't understand whether the iPad can run programs like their computer at home. I've seen a lot of iPhones with 5 or less downloaded apps: Facebook and a couple top casual games.

It's interesting that Microsoft has multiple apps on Android (11) and iOS (23), Google has 22 apps on iOS and even 1 app on Windows Phone, while Apple has 0 on any platform except iOS.

Institutional buyers, especially schools, usually can't do IAPs. Heck, we're lucky when they even have an app budget at all.

I didn't get an iPad 1, partly because I figured the 2nd or 3rd gen device would be so much better. Standing behind me in the iPad 2 line was a guy that had just sold his iPad 1 for $100 less than he'd paid for it. Essentially leasing an iP

There would certainly be more apps in the store if they had opened the store up for more developers before now. They've only been accepting app submissions from most companies for about 45 days and individual developers were only allowed to

Those ratings are up to the app submitter. Apple can reject the app if they feel the ratings aren't appropriate, but it's entirely possible that some of the mature rating levels were selected by the submitters. What I don't get is why Twitt

If it's essentially the new iPod Touch with a bigger display and $100 bigger price, will they still sell like crazy? The iPod Touch (32GB) starts at $299. I could maybe see a 16GB iPad Mini at $299 but it could be $349 or $399 for the cheap
