They can't afford one, doesn't mean they don't have one though. Salaries are stagnent compared to inflation yes...but thats average. If you look at the huge amount of retirees that exited the workforce over the past 2 years

Semiconductors used to be very cyclic...pre-2008. I would say demand has been extremely strong across most semiconductor products for at least the last 15 years now...with no real drop except maybe a tick in 2019 right before COVID hit.

Honestly this is not great efficiency. While getting more people of the road is great, the CO2e avoided per dollar is magnitiudes less than what can be done at the private company level. $4.77M for 2,040 MT CO2e reduced/avoided yearly

There is a potential for surplus in the food chain, but the logistics of transporting food from where it grows to where it is consumed leads to waste. The waste we have now may be considered low compared to a hundred years ago when we coul

Many things are done for the sake of growth at the expense of employees...however those employees generally get much higher salaries in exchange for that. There is a reason Google, Facebook and Apple are the huge companies they are...and t

Exactly this. Financial situtions change but you still haven't to honor contracts that were signed. The 8K employees didn't have the same contracts as a long term spokesperson...that is not unusual at all...

This is all pretty accurate. The only real surprise is that 40um tech and above are still running full steam and even the 20+ year old tech has only dropped a few percent for next year.

No...chips are made on Silicon. What is required to make them into semiconductors requires a lot of special metals, gases and other chemicals. They source those things from around the globe...including Ukraine for things like noble gases.

Which indicates the author knows nothing about how semiconductor fabs use power. Power usage is stable with a few percent...and 100MW is really on the low side for this fab. If all 6 phases are completed as they are expected to be...it&#x

This is a lesson most people don't learn till they are older (if ever). It's hard to convince someone in their 20's that they shouldn't be spending money on status things in order to gain friends or a romantic partner.
