I saw similar...and would say people of type 1 were more likely to have worked in college and had lower amounts of debt. Type 2 generally didn't think of the consequences of taking out more and more debt to fuel their lifestyle in college and those are the ones that are pushing for full debt cancellation today. I would say we should require all debt to be paid back 100% but cancel all interest (or make it minimal like 1%). If you irresponsibly took money to go on spring break every year, then you should pay it back.
