I love how the common user suggestion to "just make it a setting" is immediately downvoted. Hacker News FTW.

Everything is dependent on your market. To paraphrase Dharmesh Shah, "enterprise products are sold, not bought." Part of that selling process is making sure prospects know you exist, and understand the value you provide. Cold calls are one

In this example the Mercedes also costs the same as a Honda, right? Look, Apple sets expectations super high, and to a certain extent that's their fault. But they're also innovating like crazy and, unfortunately, there are bound to be some

It's a little weird that the iPad-ish device on the homepage appears to be running the Windows version of Firefox.

If you have an iPhone or Android device with GPS, I'd suggest Runkeeper ( http://www.runkeeper.com ). The app and site is top-notch.

In my experience Apple has pretty high quality refurb processes (replacing excessively scratches chassis, etc) - so while it might not be brand new you might end up with something better than what you started with. That said, given some of

Just to clarify something that appears to be a common misconception - Apple doesn't ever replace the iPad battery, it just gives you a whole new iPad for $105.95: http://www.apple.com/support/ipad/service/battery/ As a point of comparison

Sounds a lot like the people who said they would move to Canada if George W Bush won. It's one thing to make threats like this, it's another thing completely to follow through with them.

A pretty good write-up about what went wrong. I like the mitigation procedure of implementing recovery drills that "include the rare and complicated procedures"... whoever runs that is going to have a wickedly fun job!

The speaker argues that your memory of an event is based largely on the end of the event itself (such as the pain at the very end of a colonoscopy). Hilariously, the end of the speech itself ends strong but then there's a crappy question-

Too bad Google isn't marketing or branding these devices. If your strategy as a vendor is "hope our OS provider's branding sort of rubs off on us" I think you need a different approach. Also, does anyone else hate killer/doomed/war linkbait
