I had the exact same experience, but a fairly clear flow into my career. My own tinkering led to a job at a local computer store fixing computers when I was about 15, and then a job as a build engineer at 18. This was in the 90s so there we

It reminded me a lot of this Aphex Twin video: https://youtu.be/SqayDnQ2wmw For now I prefer the human (curated?) one but you could imagine this improving to be really cool.

The main experience I have with gulls is one by one eating up all the ducklings in the canal here in Amsterdam, to the horror of everyone on the terraces.

It is forbidden in tournament play, but I absolutely keep notes for correspondence games that play over the course of multiple days (a chess sprint?) and LiChess even has notes as a built in feature.

I wish they would use the videos to detect and punish simulation. There will always be some borderline cases, but where a player is untouched (or touched in a completely different area) and then kicks off, hurtling to the ground while screa

I have had a simple rule to unfollow anyone who posts off topic, and honestly it works pretty well. A lot of people have accounts just for talking about whatever topic they are interested in. It does mean occasionally unfollowing someone wh

The part that feels really obvious to me is that, if I made an AI that could generate music by looking through the entire (copyrighted) back catalog of the Beatles for example, and it would output music that I could control to be very much

I’ve seen that but still just personally read it as “by the way contact me if you want me to sell something to my fans” more than that they have some specific responsibility.

I am a DJ myself, but I would still give credit to the authors of the tracks rather than claiming it for myself (even when it’s a unique interesting combination or flow).

Aren’t influencers simply popular people who are willing to sell their audience to advertisers? Some of them are content creators, others are popular for other reasons. But it isn’t really a job description or title.

I am not sure how to say this best, it probably sounds negative but I don’t mean it that way. It is really interesting because using these tools abstracts away the talent/skills part of creating art - you say your idea, and get the com

I was quite poor so only had old computers growing up, so I used Minix on everything. These days there is still ELKS which runs on the real old hardware, rather than inserting a Pi into the case.
