Today I was able to walk into a grocery store, pay for food, and go home to have a warm lunch (having a gas stove also helped tremendously). The matter was having a 10€ note at home. Not what I'd call "piles of cash". As an a

Thanks. My mind started running the random string generator given those restrictions, like a puzzle game. But had no idea of what it meant until you wrote it. Who invented that stupid idea and thought it would be a good one?

Yes, I confirmed it with the results from other friends. Very unintuitive, though. Just saying "Accuracy:" before the emojis, would give a good enough hint of what those mean.

What do the last emoji numbers mean when you share your results? Below my points, and how many avg years off, I got a dartboard, then "6", "3", emoji of a blind man walking, then "6".

5% of my 500 GB is 25 GB, which is already a lot of space but understandable. Not many things would fit in there nowadays. But 5% of a 5 TB volume is 250 GB, that's the size of my whole system disk! Probably not so understandable by th

That's the point. One of my first interviews in tech was with a CEO who dressed with an Iron Maiden t-shirt. That settled to me the question about whether I would need to worry too much about looks at the office! :)

This is great! Thanks for sharing, it is a cool idea to try bringing QoL improvements from Rust to C++. Got a question: Does this prevent the RVO/NRVO compiler optimizations for return values? And when those fail, same question for the

That is, as so many things with tech, a matter of giving proper UI for humans as much priority as the feature itself. It would be solved with something as simple as a "Privacy Blocks" drop-down menu that was prominently shown in t

With "here", you mean Germany? Are you sure? Last time I looked into these things (granted, in 2022 or so), seemed to me that for example using Stremio with a torrent add-on would risk a fine in Germany, but using a Debrid service

Why #1 : not enough time and money. The project had become a time sink, I get it. But that's exactly why OSS is a "What You See Is What You Get". Normally I'd encourage any OSS maintainer in this position to just announ

Yeah, that reminds me of the concept of externalized costs... they are not "paying" for the whole price (in terms of time of work) that the feature costs. An external force is paying it for them, so life is beautiful and they can

I don't think so, because there are more factors. For example, that women are extremely much more picky in apps than in real life. That's something that a FOSS product wouldn't solve, because it's a behavioral thing.
