Did you build your current lock by hand? Did you at least disassemble it and figure out that there isn't a master key that would grant entry? How far do you take this? Maybe having your locks NAT out or phone home to a third party is a bit

I think it's network effects from it's founder as well. It is written in Python, Chad is active with python stuff. I think that the Python community is generous, but I doubt any more so than most other OSS communities. (Please prove me righ

For those not a part of the Django community: Toastdriven is not new, Daniel Lindsley is a staple for us. Haystack and Tastypie on their own are wonderful projects with untold hours of unpaid OSS. This is more of a full-stack project than e

Lists like these are all well and fine, but there's almost certainly something you can do about them in Django. You can make third party apps that do what you want, it's the best way to prove that it's possible, and to make forward motion,

I'm glad you responded. Not all positive indicators are created equal. It's totally true. An Ivy league degree is recognizably hard, and it's an easy quantifier, if . If your work is equally hard, you need to figure out a way to show that.

You're wasting effort with this. It feels good to write. It feels good to hear when you're in that situation. It doesn't help you. It's not about money, it's about positive indicators. An Ivy League school is a positive indicator, starting

Interesting concept, I have a couple questions: * If you couldn't hire a strong sales team, what makes the team you just hired any good? * How do you handle things like company culture? For sales-oriented businesses, the salesperson is the

Agree or not, that's what DHH is saying here. It's harder for sustainable businesses to hire talent, when talent is getting paid more at places with enormous valuations. This of course falls down if the large valuation and the large pay are
