That's simply not true at all, Heroic Launcher supports both cloud saves and achievements. I've been using them for a long time on Deck now. Please don't lie :/

Did "blaming the carrier" ever work for you when they were abusing you as a customer?

It's "call us" which is interesting to do without a working SIM. :) (The carrier is a M NO so they don't really have physical customer support either.)

My telco requires that I receive an SMS on my eSIM to move it to new phone so... yeah. It's amazing if the phone for whatever reason doesn't work and that then requires a long customer support call that might not work. The direct

No, Swiss SBB is just generally very competent and has insane amount of traffic in comparison to any European rail.

Why did you feel the need to write this quip? What do you add here and what was your point? Does it bother you if people express negative opinions about the things that affect them?

Aren't most children taught how to read them by parents, not in schools?

Making people accountable for their actions is NOT a witch hunt. It's horrible to even propose that people are absolved of their decisionmaking consequences just because they filtered them through software.

Yeah, it's really not wierd that people thinking that using secure technologies, firewalls and privacy to defend against infections on their electronics would also strongly support using a firewall to defend themselves from disease in

I've been there like 2 decades ago and even then it was a deeply political event. There never a time where German hacker clubs, which are the lifeblood of this event, weren't very political - and very explicitly left wing politica

Each controller and subcomponent on the motherboard needs a driver that correctly puts it into low power and sleep states to get battery savings. Most of those components are proprietary and don't use the standard drivers available in

Life tip: Noone appreciates and there's no utility in nitpicking analogies. They're never the actual point of the message and it's incredibly rude and socially inept to lock onto a side quest like that.

Can you explain what you tried so say with that? Customer needs don't really matter in cases where monopolist (ab)uses the law to kill competition. That's the MAIN reason why monopolies are problematic.

Apple didn't implement x86 ISA in hardware, they have a few instructions that change memory behaviour to make emulation faster.

20 years is half of x86's lifetime and less than half of the lifetime of home computing as we know it. So this is kind of a useless question, because in such a timespan anything can happen. 20 years ago computers had somewhere around 5

I wonder if in 2025 a company would even allowed to start before being curb stomped by Intel's IP lawyers. After all, they started making clones, something that China gets accused of a lot.

If this passes, Germany would have to approve of it, which makes your diction a bit wierd. A country approving a law at a higher instance that changes their existing law is not bypassing anything.

This is how "Company funding OSS" looks like in real life. There have been demands to do that more on HN lately. This is how it looks like when it happens - a company paying for OSS development.

None of what you wrote is true though, is it? Amazon, PayPal work just fine on my 3rd party 1Password extension. And it works just fine on Android as a default passkey provider as well.

That's because this campaign is about changing that very law. Saying that "this is blatantly illegal" misses the basic point of this proposal being a CHANGE of the law that makes that illegal.
