There's netlogo, a multi-agent modeling language. It's not quite what you're asking for, and it's not too stable, but it comes pre-loaded with at least starter code for almost every model you listed, and it's syntax

For what it's worth, if you click on the "games" button on the featured apps page, then look around for "buy once and play", you can find a collection of games without in-app purchases. I know that doesn't fix

Ridiculous Fishing was heavily recommended in another thread about mobile gaming recently, and I have to say it really lived up to the HN hype.

That being said, I think the utility I get from each game is probably equivalent. Monument valley was an amazing experience, where as these games are several alright experiences that add up to about the same level of enjoyment.

I agree with everything you said about what makes racket a great fundamentals class, but I think you left out a key advantage. Most people haven't seen racket. Kids who took some basic CS course beforehand, but have to take the college
