You're experiencing firsthand what's to be in the process of company enshittification. What I can deduce is that the company (as PG would put it) probably is "default dead" if it needs so many investment rounds. Since th

Yes, it was for me, too. I should have read the sample version first, and I asked for a refund then. Yes, the book is well written and up to No Starch Press's standards, but I don't think it deserved the blanket title "The Ar

But isn't that a significant conflict of interest if they are public service employees? If they are truly people-oriented as they oath when they join public service, why allow them to own stock at all?

One of the greatest gems I got from a blog post once posted back in HN (I can't find it anymore, unfortunately) was about a guy getting a job at Google (or ex-Googler), and he dropped the following (I'm paraphrasing, of course):

I agree, if you extract the "timeless fundamentals" from each one of these paragraphs, it will remain relevant anytime, anywhere. As long as human nature remains, the advice will still be valid.

One of the sentences at the very start caught my eye: > I thought to myself: why is there so little actionable advice out there about negotiation? There's a wealth of actionable negotiation advice if you know where to look, like H

Yeah, except for office files (documents, spreadsheets, slides). They become cloud shortcuts, they don't exist on your disk "physically." Don't rely on that for backups. Google Takeout converts them to actual, solid file

It matters because on your own domain you control the MX records (Mail eXchange) servers. So, if Mozilla Thundermail were to disappear, you can switch servers on the MX record to another email provider with little downtime if done correctly

Well, it's kind of the same thing with P2P money exchanges. Legitimately you may need to exchange crypto into fiat, since there's no "regular" exchange that does that. The trick is that for it to escape regulation just h
