I totally hear you about 3. I was super shocked when I (North America educated) went to visit a university bookstore in Bulgaria. For around $5 I was able to buy a "Mathematical methods of physics" book that covered in 300 pages t

I have quite a few adult readers using my book to refresh and re-learn basic calculus and mechanics. You might consider checking it out[1]. It's not free, but very affordable. [1] https://www.amazon.com/dp/09920010

I've been using this approach and it works amazingly well (for text-based formats like .tex and .md). I switched from mercurial to git because rebasing feels much more natural. I'm currently actively maintaining five different ver

I wrote a math book that helps a lot with math de-fearing. The technology is very old-school: the printed word, but the teaching style is new. The tone is very conversational so it feels like you're reading a really long blog post. It&

Seems like another version of `Fabric`, though the expect functionality is nice. After investing so much in learning the quirks and specifics of the fab command, I'd need a very compelling reason to switch.

This is pretty interesting. The paper basically starts by talking about "Concept maps", or graphs of concepts and relations. These concept maps correspond to an SQL schema, and instances of concepts and relations correspond to tab

Why not use `update` in Python? e.g. if you want to merge dictA and dictB, you'd write dictA.update(dictB) If you have many you can always use this: dictD = {} map(dictD.update, [dictA, dictB, dictC])
