Yeah, people do things financially not optimal for the sake of ethics. That’s a key part of living in a society. That’s part of why we don’t just murder each other.

The problem of cost is not the drugs, but the lengthy process to ensure that it's not a false conviction, and even with the current lengthy process it's still really not good enough. Should people be able to choose it? In general

I’m against death penalty because: 1. False conviction rate is unacceptably high 2. It’s financially similarly burdensome to do life imprisonment as death penalty 3. Presence of death penalty doesn’t seem to impact homicide rates I am all f

At some point we should either give them life imprisonment or accept that if they are free to go then they paid their debt and need to be reintegrated (obviously if they did sex offences against minors then don’t put them in jobs with high

Tbf, startup ceo pay is not that great. Except for maybe very late stage engineers often get paid more in base comp. And at late stage your startup should pay you enough to live in Bay Area.

Under AuxHealth.io we launched before Dr Gupta (late 2022, very shitty mvp using davinci02 before ChatGPT release), but then spent most of our energy on b2b. This experience did end up helping refine our chatbot significantly. Relative to c

Absolutely, but that’s not heat. Things like heat produced from burning wood is an example of potential energy of binds getting released as kinetic energy + photons.

To be fair, there is Doppler shift in cmb, we are moving about 370km/s relative to cmb rest frame. You can possibly imagine a world where some of this asymmetry is from a lorentzian ether.

I think it doesn’t matter, since Lorentz shrinking of ether in non-symmetric speed of light would shrink the faster direction.

It’s discount to the seller/middleman. Ie I can sell a legally or illegally sourced phone. The illegally sourced phone is cheaper to me so more profit.

Why would they? The seller wants to move product and illegal product comes with discount.

I think better automated collision avoidance as well as automated “you’re driving erratic take a rest in a safe location, we can help get you there” are clear wins. But forced autopilot is definitely not there yet and would require a lot of

Many people are safer than average driver, since most deaths are associated with high risk driving (more than a third are dui alone). So forcing everyone to use autonomous vehicles essentially kills safe drivers.

But issue is that human safety is kind of long tailed. Eg more than a third of all fatal crashes are DUI. I’m guessing if you take out high risk behaviours then the rate will be an order of magnitude lower. What we care about is not being b

I host a Meetup just to meet new people interested in startup. I started it because there wasn’t a startup focused Meetup in my area. It’s hard for me to imagine that the $70/6 months is what prevents someone from hosting a high qualit
