It's actually just one example of my point - we don't really need to speculate on whether there's a market or if not, why not. It's like if entrapment convinces your performance-oriented daughter who's short on cash (to make this an analogy

The reason I added that EDIT is because I actually hadn't read that far down yet - I was just referring to his first counterfeiting gig when I first posted the comment: inline search the article for "Kuhl’s counterfeiting career had begun

If you read this article and have a halfway decent model of the world in your head, you will realize that police entrapment was the proximate cause of this real, talented artist low on his money becoming a counterfeiter: i.e. they made him

I mean that it's unheard-of for judges to be literally bribed as this implies. This guy is posting his research digging things up - a very interesting read: if he had found anything! But he didn't. The steps he took are worthless and don'

He didn't investigate it. He said, "here's what I did" which fell far short of any investigation. He had no reason to post how far he got along in his little dirt digging campaign.

This isn't a corrupt country (there is a specific list of corrupt countries, this is a pretty objective statement.) It makes 0 sense for you to post "how far you got" as you didn't get anywhere.

Let's dig into this and see what we find. What are your impressions of Apple's 2-3 year plans and prospects? I'll respond with my thoughts.

Please think a little more abstractly. The iPhone is less and less a well-differentiated premium offering versus its competition.

Maybe I need to spell it out for you, but if Apple allows Chrome it has to allow Firefox. Any and every argument that would apply to one applies to the other.

This time it's different. This time it's failing by deciding to act as much as a beige undifferentiated manufacturer as possible. If you like I can send you a complete analysis.

I'm telling you what happens if Apple allows Firefox to dominate the iOS ecosystem. It's easier to target, it's easier to get right as a single app on an android device, and it crushes Apple's ecosystem and differnetiation. They've fucked

more specifically, Apple is Apple for shutting down apps that usurp their markets. But don't worry - Apple won't be Apple for much longer, and it has given up on all premium differentiation by being idiots.

Be that as it may, I don't want to succeed and have my friends and family think of me as a hustler - an $80k job as a programmer beats that. Being CEO is, and ought to be, far more respectable. We should be happy that it's as "easy" as it

I know - and I don't either. But we need to be consistent in how we talk about companies that have a revenue stream they create at a systemic cost to everyone: this is (from the companies') perspective, "building value."

when a company claims to have "created $50m of value" they mean that that's what they're producing is "worth" as valuated by their customers. For lean companies like those featured here, their cost doesn't enter the picture.
