Were you there to hear it in person? Even just reading it online, I found it really, really well done. Both in terms of content, but also structurally as a presentation itself.

I'm not an expert at all, but your response made me curious as to why that (presumably humorous) aside would have been thrown in. Anyway, my research, such as it is, took me as far as the Wikipedia article on Ecclesiastes[0], which may

I exclusively use those applications inside the browser and I have had no complaints about notifications. They ask for permission, I grant it, and I get (native, at least on OS X) notifications that match the rest of my system. Genuinely cu

To your last point, I literally just counted after reading your comment without changing anything. I have 68 tabs open in Chrome (over four windows, two each in two different profiles), and this is fairly representative of my usage since my

I'm skeptical of your theory. Is there reason to believe that humans didn't push boundaries and explore prior to understanding the nature of stars and the vast and varied universe? I suspect that early humans found plenty of myste

One way it affects it is to reduce the overall market for Chrome apps, reducing the incentive to make an app in the first place.

While somewhat longer, you do have var map = hashMapOf("a" to 6, "b" to 12) var list = listOf(1, 2, 3) This is still not Java-level verbosity.

Sorry, that's the context I should have provided! (Knowing that also probably explains why they cut to a shot of the JetBrains CEO in the audience, since Kotlin originated there.)

Long story short, Kotlin is easy to support without substantive (any?) changes to Android runtime, golang would involve much more effort. It's also not clear to me there's any desire to write applications in golang.
