Fortunately our company gives us the option to reject a candidate if we feel they are cheating and can provide an explanation. Once had a candidate solve a problem extremely quickly but they could not explain how they solved it all. I then

Would it be possible to jump into a SWE role in a team you work closely with? If you have a good reputation within the company, it may be easier than having to prove yourself to another company.

Tbh I find this comment hilarious given the story we are commenting on. In this case, it is Meta/Instagram that is trying to copy TikTok, and yet still can't pull off as good a recommendation algorithm.

The reciprocal also works, these are antitrust laws set by the EU and if Apple wants to continue doing business in that market, they have to follow them.

Or simply hand the buyer of a new iphone a free charger if they ask for one, but we all know it's not about the environment.

YOU live in America, Apple operates worldwide. And the USA has plenty of bills in the pipeline targeting the same issues. Apple won't have their cake and eat it too.

I don't buy the security issue scare-mongering from Apple if they are required to open up their platform. Bruce Schneier points out the flaws in Apple's argument very well in his letter https://www.schneier.com/ess

I'm having a hard time understanding why they would be bitter. Residency is temporary and a part of the training process. Once completed, doctors will make 2x-3x+ compared to midlevels for the rest of their careers.

I honestly don't know. At best you're going to get trite answers such as join a club or get involved in a hobby. In my experience, you make transient acquaintances and still end up feeling lonely.

Isn't this what the entire field of bioinformatics supposed to be about? I know a few people who left it because it doesn't pay as well (in the US) as your average software engineering job.
