I think he means it in a different way. Nobody is saying that the work of medical researchers and doctors is unimportant or they aren't smart. However figuring out new ways to connect the population and make them more aware of their health

No matter what he says, he can't win. Some will blame him for keeping the scanners in place and the others will play the political game blame him for being weak on security (even if they know the scanners are useless)

The idea of living in NJ/working in NYC sounds nice and lots of people with families do it, but as as 20-something in NYC (Brooklyn for me) I thought about it but can't imagine actually doing this. It is nothing to do with appearing "cool"

I really doubt someone could pull that off now. With the cost of college and cost of living in general, you would barely make a dent in your college payments. Add the fact that it is impossible to get a job these days.
