Wow that sounds great, and it can be self hosted too? I've been curious about 1Password but it seems closed source and you can't self host so why bother. I'm leaving Apple for that reason.

As someone new to Linux, I'm curious about this as well. As a comparison, take Android. Thinking broadly about fragmentation, Android is fragmented because of so many different hardware vendors who use Android on their phones. They mak

I'm new to Linux. Is there a good overview of different password managers out there? Switching off Apple Keychain so looking for some basics. Apple made it easy so I didn't think about the concept much so not sure what I need. Is

That's an interesting way to go about it. With Signal, why can't we simply have an open standard like email for our texts? What if texts were just emails?

Also, what pushes you to get a Pangolin (AMD) instead of Lemur (Intel)? I'm curious because I don't really understand the meaningful difference and bought the Lemur when it was in stock.

Yes! And because of this, this means you need to donate ahead of time so things can be built to replace your Samsung phone. After it's built well...what would they spend your money on? Donate early, donate often.

I agree more tech literacy is needed. The learning curve for Linux seems so steep. For what it's worth, I took UNIX classes in high school, and know how to get around. But Linux is just far more than I can handle, even just to install

Understandable. I suggest donating to open source options as part of your compromise. Purism, PinePhone, Ubuntu Touch....or buying something from them if it's not an option.

see my comments above in this thread. specific comments are welcome. i love talking about this thing :) As a Mac user, the build is about what you would expect from a PC. It's not one of those nightmare shit PCs. It does its job. Get t

Lemur Pro: Fit and finish is a A- for PCs (B compared to a Mac) Solid build, no super weird stuff on the Lemur Pro. The silkscreen for one of the USB ports says 3.1 but it's 3.2. The webcam has a little lip. Trackpad is pretty clickey

Zero complaints...to you. I can see giving up on asking other Linux users for help if they're so dismissive. Users aren't wrong. Apple gets that. If you have a problem getting something basic to work, it's Apple's fault,

Good context. Given that Bluetooth is the issue, what should we do instead? Some new standard? I've seen some headphones that offer a non-Bluetooth USB wireless dongle (Corsair)

The average user is going to use Firefox instead. Advanced users who know to open "Terminal" will attempt to just copy and paste the blob of code and hope it works. Training new users to do this is a bad habit that will bite the L

I'm not a developer, I don't understand CLI, and I can copy paste stuff to the best of my ability. I spent 4 hours getting my Sony XM3 headphones to connect. They finally played sound. I never got the mic to work at all. Linux is

Replying here to say I agree with the other posters. I'm not a developer. I need a system to do my work. I need to do video calls using a bluetooth headset with a microphone. I'm not in a position to spend time "fixing".

It's a Linux/bluetooth issue not a computer vendor issue. Yes support is terrific. What mic/headphones do you use? I eventually got the Sony XM3s to play sound after a bunch of CLI commands and random Linux threads. But bluet
