It's perfectly fine to critique without contributing. You'll also notice this: > I can’t open issues myself because I’ve been banned from the V issue tracker, or I would have already. Also this from their previous article on V:

I know some developers with less than 5 years experience earning more than CAD90k/year in Toronto, but they're not the majority of developers I know. Those jobs do exist, but they're hard to get and hard to find.

I use Things on my phone. I love the app, but the price of the full suite (iPhone, Mac, iPad -- even though I don't have an iPad) is too high for me so I don't use it often enough :(

I’m addressing the part of the comment that holds merit to me, specifically the part about diversity problems and a lack of applicants from underrepresented groups. I don’t believe that people in tech aren’t represented because of some biol

I don't think your example applies in the context of a tech company, so I'm going to comment ignoring it. If it boils down to who applies, then we need to make sure that we're reaching out to communities that are not well rep

Hi Hacker news! So yea ... hug of death. Wasn't expecting it to get any attention at all (but that begs the question, why did I submit??). Anyway, this is an idea I've been sitting on for a while and finally got around to doing so

A few things I want to try to accomplish this year: 1. Read fiction slower. Sometimes I just read to get to the ending and I miss _a lot_. 2. Read more non fiction. I read 1 or 2 non fiction books in 2017. I want around 30% of my reading to

I’m not married to an editor so much as my bindings. I’d really hate to use an editor/ide that doesn’t have a decent implementation of at least some vim bindings, though I have to sometimes. Ultimately I think it’s familiarity and a su

How do you deal with your phone being in different states before unlocking? For example, if you have an app open in a folder, you'll have to press the home button 3 times: once to exit the app, another to exit the folder, and a third t

I really love these text-only minimalist news sites ( http://lite.cnn.io , as another example). I read the thin NPR and lite CNN almost daily, and I'd love to see a list of these for other big news sites. By far my favorite t
