The UK for starters, I have a large choice, from A&A to Zen. The last mile fibre is provided by a company called OpenReach. I don't deal with them, they sell the service to the ISPs at a regulated wholesale price, it's those I

> he was still gonna face U.S. extradition Which would have been no different to the UK Lets take the conspiracy theory at face value 1) Assange in UK 2) Sweden tried to extradite him (via an EAW) relating to charges in Sweden 3) Assange

So why the whole charade of extraditing him from the UK to Sweden, to then begin the "to US" process, when the "to US" process could have simply started in the UK?

They denied this. Why would liberal Sweden tarnish their reputation? What makes Sweden more likely to extradite him than the UK?

Well yes, it was a shorthand. There aren't many countries with the death penalty that the UK has an extradition treaty with - 12 out of 121.

Why the charade of Sweden? Why not extradite him direct from the UK, which is far further down the list of good justice systems

So he'll be extradited from Sweden, but not from the UK? Why?

Sweden doesn't have a death penalty. If it did, UK law would not allow extradition to Sweden.

So he was free to leave, but would then face Swedish justice, which is the 4th best in the world [0], just behind Denmark, Norway and Sweden. [0] http://data.worldjusticeproject.org/#

It's a global clock. UTC is the same time in Miami as it is in Singapore. The accuracy of the delivery of that timesource is 10ns in theory, and upto 1000ns in practice.

GPS provides the correct time anywhere on the planet, it's a universal (as far as earth goes) clock, accurate to 10 nanoseconds (3m). The different reference planes that opposite sides of the planet (at the equator) gives you a precisi

UTC is a global clock. If I show the time in Sydney and the time here in UK, Sydney will be 150ms behind to me, and 150ms ahead to a viewer in Sydney, but I know the distance therefore I know if the clocks are in sync. The time dilation bet

First hoax in the list, "Fictitious biography about a Belgian painter". It was in place for 13 years, 4 months But the kicker? > Speedy deleted as "G3: Blatant hoax" If that's speedy, what's slow!?

Do you have to show your license in NSW? In the UK we have to give our name and address, then turn up to a police station within 7 days with our license.

It wasn't that the sensors were confused or something - the AI had no idea how to cope with pedestrians in the road for whatever reason, so threw them in the "Other" category. At least 98% of objects are categorised, the rest

By invading another country? I guess that's what the U.S. tends to do. I believe people have a right to self determination. Borders are just lines on a map. I know America doesn't believe that, and that's a valid viewpoint to

Typewriters can become insecure if you leave them alone -- someone could modify it to send all keypresses via wireless transmission, and probably even power from those presses. A typewriter is no more or less secure than a keyboard. A compu

I think sun synchronous orbits are retrograde P2P sub orbital hops are either direction, 30-40 minutes, maybe 25 for shorter trips like London to New York.

3600 seconds a day, or 108,000 seconds a month, but the point stands. That would be 1 cent per 108 seconds, so listen to an 8m35 version of American Pie and Don McLean gets 4.75c. Listen to Heartbreak Hotel, 2m08, and Elvis gets 1.18c. List

I guess the confusion comes when 10 fans only listen to Band X, but band X gets less that $100 a month. I listen to say 1,000 songs a month on Spotify, at $10 a month royalties that’s 1c per song. If I listen to song K 10 times I would thin
