Editor features for editable local packages are limited, even the project inspector hides some actions and then there is the whole story of schemas, working directory (maybe you want to tweak a binary or another target in that package) etc.

Good and honestly it’s high time. There used to be a time when we could give corps the benefit of the doubt but that time is clearly over. Beyond the CSAM, X is a cesspool of misinformation and generally the worst examples of humanity.

> AI is a key part of software engineering now No, it isn’t. There are irresponsible voices in the community who claim that it is, but they always find convenient ways to omit the downsides (on both the tech and effects on society as a w

I don’t get why they announce it as a “Mac app” when the UI looks and feels nothing like a Mac app. Also electron… again. Why not flex some of those codex skills for a proper native app…

What Mark Rutte has been saying recently is mostly buzzwords for peach daddy's ears (and has been criticises by EU members as it misrepresents our current goals and motivations).

While tools and software itself is not political, the people behind it are. eg. When CEOs and founders and project leads leverage their audience for politics, then their tools are absolutely a political choice. Be it DHH’s latest fasho ramb

So… this also means anything that was posted on the website could’ve been promoted by someone? Edit: indeed, from the post: > It’s impossible to know how many of the posts seen over the past few days are actually from an AI.

Swift tends to overuse enums, for example people would use them instead of namespaces or when they want a function but don’t want to create a class or a struct which in my opinion has always felt like a work-around for language deficiencies

The explicit ownership model in Rust also protects one from the footguns of actors and Tasks in Swift. Rust also makes most mistakes in that area a build time error which is not only a huge time saver but also helps one learn and improve in

Until you get to the Swift concurrency stuff, or you try to use Swift on a backend or non-Apple system - then it’s hot garbage. If Rust is too low level for you, you can write Go or Kotlin or even something new and fresh like Gleam.
