So nobody learnt anything from whatever Tumblr pulled. It's like watching a train wreck in slow motion. Amazing.

Simplicity is a good thing. One of the perception hashes that I found in an URL on HN was literally just compressing the images, converting to grescale, calculating the hamming distance and coalescing that into an n bit hash.

It’s not meant to be used as a headless system so I don’t think so. Fwiw n=1 my update to Big Sur went surprisingly smoothly in full clamshell mode connected to 2 external displays.

On the other hand, MacOS update failing only _once_ in 16 years is commendable.

I can’t believe such over generalized garbage is upvoted on HN. Everyone’s job is different, everyone is different. There are productive engineers who are introverts and there are productive engineers who are extroverts. Making jokes in the

The average python programmer does not really need to deal with pythons import system that much (just be aware of how it does its module loading and that you can conditionally do stuff sometimes with __import__ etc). As someone who has mess

From quickly looking at a few random Theraflu products - they don't seem to contain pseudo. Though asking a random store worker to know that would not be ideal, but a pharmacist should have definitely sold them this medicine without ID

Interesting that this comment is downvoted - going to save this to come back to it in 10-20y for it to be absolutely the state of affairs.

HN is not the place where you get to tell people to check their privilege or to warn people. Write a blogpost, or write to dang@ if you feel strongly about it.

Interesting, I didn't even know you had external parties providing league based (I'm guessing) match making. All matches in Dota 2 run through the official valve coordinator or are pre-made lobbies. There is a LAN only build iirc,
