I don't believe the emergence of a single bug tarnishes an entire codebase and labels it as poor quality. This situation seems like a lapse of judgement in process, which they've fessed to and provided a path to correction for.

I'm unemployed right now, so my sleeping habits have gotten a bit strange with nothing to force me in to any sort of schedule. I find that my "go to sleep" signals don't start coming until after I've been awake for 18-20 hours, then I sleep

I have both MRI and JRuby installed on my systems. For quickie scripts I use 'ruby' and for anything with a noticeable runtime (Or multi-core processing!) I use 'jruby'. I'm sure the JRuby fellows will continue working on startup time, but
