It’s funny, my experience has been the exact opposite. Conservative boomer and older-gen-x employees where I work are very outspoken, loudly rehashing Fox News talking points in the cafeteria, seemingly projecting their voices as loudly as

The line of argument you’re objecting to comes up every time because it continues to be correct every time. Instead of saying you’re tired of it, it might be more productive to admit that you’re wrong.

I’m seeing a couple of red herrings dominate these comments, which really have no relevancy to the issue at hand. 1. The veracity of twitter’s fact checking. This absolutely does not matter, since Twitter may host or refuse to host whatever

There’s also this element of framing surrounding the word “offensive”. when someone is put on the spot and asked if they find something “offensive”, it’s kind of a socially precarious moment. If they say “yes”, it could lead so challenges a

The attempt at a “gotcha” is annoying. I can only speak from my lived experience as a white person who grew up on a reservation. I married a native, and almost all my closest friends were (and are) natives. Everyone I knew called themselves

You will be quickly disabused of this notion if you talk to poor and/or brown people. While I’m sure that you can find occasional individuals who do not care about inclusivity, the large majority do care. The attitude that your comment

I feel like “both sidesing” the issue could be countered empirically. Are there really as many pro-“SJW” comments as KKK-forgiving comments, or is that just a comfortable thought-annihilating truism?

Here’s the thread, go ahead and tally the number of comments that are sympathetic vs unsympathetic to the hate-crime CEO, and compare that to the proportion of comments in this thread that are sympathetic/unsympathetic to the Florida w

Funny how this argument is rarely leveled against the defense industry, the vast proportion of which is at best boondoggle busywork and at worst outright grift.

We already subsidize tons of essentially valueless jobs, from propping up the coal and oil industries when they can’t compete in the free market, to paying farmers to plant corn for ethanol that no one needs. Those subsidized industries act
