I think what may happen is a big operator will invest a lot of money to make service there incredibly cheap and fast, killing the service. As a lesson to all you out there who'd dare challenge a communication company.

Once they pay off their loan, they could end up with the cheapest and faster internet services in the area. The irony.

I don't like returning, generally, unless the product really didn't meat expectations. However, I've never had a problem returning opened hard merchandise.

I owe a great debt of gratitude to Rothbard. The excerpts from his book on American history are gut wrenching as they are eye openers.

I've never actually returned software. Would a big retailer (Best buy, say) accept the return of software whose seal has been broken. A few years ago (>|decade?) music sales and video games were final at my local BB because they ass

I'm a coward, not a saint. Nor am I very "progressive" (yuck) so I'm not trying to be apologetic to minorities. But I've done things that get black folks killed that white folks get warnings for. And that's the

I don't really fear police (white 30 year old with no accent) because I know it's fairly rare that some thing bad will happen to me with them. I also don't fear terrorists who are even less likely to harm me, or the monsters

We also need a bill length vs. review time rule. If a law is too long for a representative to have read it (Patriot act, ACA) then Congress should not vote on it until they've had enough time to read it. I propose 10 days + (number of

If you mean lossy, why not? Netflix could use this by reducing the information they send out to their users who recreate a lot of what was lost. I don't think for loss-less though, because they are inferring what a pixel should to be,

I think the idea is that an image has a certain amount of self similarity. I.e. skin looks like skin. So the algorithm learns how skin is supposed to look like by looking at all the skin. So every wrinkle is improved by looking at every oth

LA literally steals water from Mexico (see Colorado river and the fact that it doesn't flow into Mexico anymore). So this author's holier-than-thou attitude strikes me as a bit rich: Angelinos are water abusers[1] in general and

Then change the law so that authorities within rule of the Law address the issue. Outing people, be they gun owners in NY state or water abusers in LA is harassment. This is not that different from J. Edgar Hoover threatening to "out&q

Agreed, which is hardly his/her fault, but rather California/LA politics' fault. Raise prices, or put a multi-tier pricing, or whatever; but harassment for social engineering's sake is creepy.
