Why do we have to “ML” everything? A simple database query should provide good evidence. I’m confident that a significant portion of problems that ML is applied to today can be solved by some Excel sheets.

There is definitely a portion of people that this applies to. However, I’d wager that the majority of the Cryptocurrency market capitalisation is from people that really want to become millionaires really fast.

You will have to factor in the 4x associated costs as well (fuel, maintenance , flight crew, airport costs, etc). I have 0% knowledge on commercial flight OPEX, but at first glance it doesn't sound as simple.

Same thing applies today. Just fire up a DO instance and tail -f access.log You will see random scanning attempts within minutes. Same principle , minus the effectiveness.
