AFAIK you cannot buy new guns in Brazil, but the homicide rate in Brazil is way higher than in the United States.

Another thing is that even if you BAN guns, it would not affect gang shootings because gang members would get guns illegally.

If you don't OWN a gun, which is a choice you can make even if they are legal, then guns don't increase your chance of suicide.

I like this approach. The only thing I would criticize is that it uses '' as a substitute for None. So something like fizzes, buzzes, empties = str_cycle('Fizz', 3), str_cycle('Buzz', 5), str_cycle('

You don't need a preprocessor. Lisp-style macros are much easier to use due to hygiene and in general not being text-based.

My approach works with arbitrary conditions, that's why it takes closures as arguments. So it's a little bit of a different requirement, I wanted something as general as possible.

Even if you recurse, it doesn't mean you can make it tail-recursive. It might be a style issue, but Rust programmers are just going to use combinators instead anyway since recursion is slower.

It's rare to actually use tail-recursive algorithms in Rust since those can be written with a loop, which Rust does support. I mean, it's rare to actually manually recurse in Haskell too, and when you need to, it's often not
