Personally, I tracked my calories for 6 months and found out whether I'm losing or gaining weight. I averaged 2700 and didn't appreciably gain or lose. I cut down to 1300 and started losing weight.

Well, for example, you shouldn't eat soy derivatives that haven't been processed. This is why fermented soy products have been popular - they are more easily digested by humans. Raw soybeans are actually toxic.

Glycemic index means nothing. Cake has a low glycemic index (someting like 30, depending on fat content). Oatmeal has a higher glycemic index (55). Does that mean we should stop eating oatmeal and substitute it with cake?

I've seen a guy change some code for shaders, go into another tab and that tab already had the new changes after the compile. If you can do this in C++, then surely you can do stuff like this for Rust. You can certainly have a hash map

By string, I of course speak of string literals. The only place where this would be an issue is writing Rust compiler error messages. I don't consider that a strong argument for why the path analogy should be broken. Because the path a

Everything is relative. You might say "But murder is not allowed in any society!" but definitions of murder may vary. So in one society euthanasia might be allowed, but not in another. In one society abortion is murder, and allowe

That's \ inside of paths and strings. Nothing to do with \ used in a language. Nobody has an issue with \ used in PHP. The only problem is maybe pasting code on a blog or something, not really a problem when programming in PHP.

Sure, if 95% (or any percentage you wish to set) agree on something, then it's probably not a moral gray area. It can't be 100% because you will always find one person to disagree, but it can be close. For example, I would say tha

Backslash does not have problems. It's a single character and looks like windows paths. :: is two characters and is only familiar for C++ programmers (and means something else in PHP)

> Why not a regular slash because how do you parse let x = a/foo(); is that a::foo() or a / foo()? If you use \ it's unambiguous, a\foo() corresponds to a::foo() while a/foo() is division

On the flip side, I don't feel there's anything wrong with people who use marijuana for recreational purposes, even if it's illegal. The law is just that, the law, it has nothing to do with what's right or wrong.

The law is the implementation, it's not morality at all. Absolutely immoral things can be legal and absolutely moral things can be illegal.

Those paths are actually valid Windows paths. I don't like `super` and `self` instead of `..` and `.` - it's just extra stuff to remember. Also, because of how the metaphor for paths is broken, the relative paths in Rust are not i

It's simple, just let string literals possibly refer to Strings if type inferences deems it necessary. Failing that, it should consider them 'static &strs. Kind of what happens for numerical literals right now.
