Maybe it's just me, but these rules are contradictory. The sentences seem explicitly designed to make that so. For instance, your email address and birthday, for, say, amazon.com, could easily be argued to "need to be kept in orde

The net effect, however, is to make sure ~4000 people will have less choices in the future, and a more miserable life. Looting and burning a city on a large scale, of course, will always be one of the remaining choices. Furthermore, the mor

I always found getters and setters very helpful for this case. In C++ and in Java. Doubly so in Java because the following works: 1) field is no longer important, gets replaced 2) write a getter that still gets the value of it, but delete t

The article didn't even mention a lot of drawbacks : Changing anything means changing half a dozen programs. Potentially in different languages. Building any new feature into the program means you get to "walk the dependency tree&

Construction is already beyond the big wins in labor force though. Construction sites used to have armies of workers. Hundreds. Now they have perhaps a dozen for large skyscrapers, 5 for normal skyscrapers and one or two for houses.

I've actually run linux as a "library OS". You can actually run it with MMU support disabled on x86. Worked fine. Compiled a little C program to overwite the interrupt table, ran it, and the whole computer crashed instantly.
