I think part of the problem here is that the UI/UX of Signal (and Telegram) are just not very good. Both are off-putting experiences and in turn do little to motivate people to switch to them.

Its disingenuous they list other browsers, but those browsers are only skins for Safari. After years of Android, I genuinely gave Iphone a shot for a few months. But not having native Firefox + ublock origin was a deal breaker.

I've always assumed Oracle deeply depends on VirtualBox internally, and the amount of feedback they receive via public channels is far cheaper than keeping it closed source and having to internally test the tool.
