Even if not a gameserver, virtually anything should not be buggy after one month of uptime. That is just ridiculous. Redundancy is completely orthogonal to this issue.

Of course it is by design. It is a blatant manipulation. "Protecting your Data". Come on!

Re:4 you can absolutely test and reason about modules in a monolith if you design and decouple things correctly. You are throwing a new complex and fragile architecture generalisticaly to fix sloppiness. You will have worse problems I assur

A performance, yes. But the deeper act is the very definition of trolling (in the broad sense of the word) :)

I find the history behind it certanly interesting (and the art is amazing!). There was a documentary and a conspiracy theory too about the whole thing, just a movie, but good to watch IMO. "Art through the gift shop".

Exaclty. This is a big concern for me. The server is really telling the browser what to do. But the browser can ignore it. It is quite a hacky an inellegant model. Very broken.

If you internally rebase to cleanup history you have to test again. Ignoring that step is wrong. Local rebase can be good and useful.

I don't know if I'm reading your comment correctly, sorry if I'm not... but individual commits within a PR are absolutely not a backup. Every commit in the PR has to be a logical unit, meaningful, atomic and stand on its own.

I was talking about Zing, yes. The parent said Zulu and I din't want to go into details. And yeah... it is more than a modified openjdk, I think we can agree and say it is based on openjdk.

Modified openjdk with high perf. GC, JIT, tooling etc. It is very nice.

Yes. Back in jdk6 days there were more problems requiring oracle jdk, this days is a no brainer to use the default openjdk.

an empty try catch wont necessary make that happen. It could countinue with the assumption that it has a File when it doesnt, corrupting further things in its (uncontrolled) way out.

The thing is, C can not be made "safe" without breaking old code and specified semantics. Even if you for example follow all the strict aliasing rules, you can still 1) make a mistake 2) access/modify arbitrary memory. Then y

The libuv API is not amateur, is all about flexibility. The example usage however is not optimal, it is just confused. The option to dynamically alloc uv_loop_t is not to avoid "accidental copies" or anysuch thing. Is there for wh

GNU readline gives the option to provide custom stdio streams. rl_{in,out}stream. You can use fdopen to get a stdio stream from a fd (socket for example). This can be problematic if not done correctly (buffering & stuff). Official docum

Hi. I can get a physical (bare metal in newspeak) 8-HT Xeon with 64G RAM and 1TB RAID1 SSD for ~$100/month, <strike>10GB</strike> 1GB NIC uplink. How much is the equivalent z1d.2xlarge EC2 instance?
