Hi, thanks for the comment. I'm not trying to say people shouldn't critique other people's ideas. Constructive criticism is great, and HN is an absolutely incredible source for it. I suppose I wanted to distinguish between an

I was already aware of a lot of this, didn't mean to appear like I was doubting the claim - I mostly wanted to hear this stuff from a fresh mouth.

Do you think Gladwell and Ferriss are sociopaths? Why?

I think the real reason why people like this author don't like Gladwell is because he bypasses this writer's academic community to deal directly with the masses. He gives normal people what they want, makes them feel smarter and m

I have a new MBA and it's superb, I'm really satisfied. That said I'd suggest waiting for Lenovo's new Thinkpads to become available before making a decision. If the new Thinkpad Yoga's digitizer works with Linux it

Do you mean pro-Apple as in a fanboy who thinks everything Apple does is great, or pro-Apple as in he appreciates and respects their design chops and business acumen?

I have no idea about the value of this service, but I have to say, the website is pretty good-looking. A great advertisement for flat design - the clean typography and icons combined with bold, simple colours give the page a real confidence

Good article, good to see someone who appreciates how strong Apple's strategy really is, rather than just hating. A nice comment somewhere in this thread about CEOs of corps competing to get the best app - Apple managed to turn the iPh

In a way it's quite terrifying to consider the possibilities of bias in Wikipedia. After all, if you're not an expert on a particular subject, how are you to know that even an article which seems neutral in content and tone isn&#x

The 18 year figure was just illustrative of the fact that I thought he was an order of magnitude off. I didn't mean that a company needs to remain consistent for 18 years exactly - but it is years of consistency that count, the more th

Sorry, but trying to say that Microsoft satisfies the consistency criteria because of its behaviour over the last 18 months is absurd. 18 months is nothing - the timespans that matter in this game are more like 18 years. Microsoft over th

Microsoft's brand problems stand in stark regard to Apple's success with branding - lack of a coherent overall product strategy, releasing too many products, releasing too soon, changing tone and strategy too often - failing to ma

Impressive stuff, but I can't help but cringe watching these cool young professional actors hunching over tiny devices and stabbing glass with their fingertips. Fingers, backs and necks are not evolved to be used like this.
