I don't see the big deal with that^ email. I mean, the only alternative not listed there is "ignore me and do nothing". It should be obvious that that's not acceptable. The email is concise and well-written...I suppose i

Elon Musk always said that he owned basically nothing other than the stock in his own companies. So was this the real reason for his recent TSLA sell off? He told everyone he was doing it to pay taxes. Which I'm sure he did. But I wond

Typical, and it has always been that way in my experience. Recently I had to switch to Windows 10 after years of using Linux at work. The result? Every time I went to the bathroom I came back to a blue screen saying Windows had decided to r

Not sure, but you can definitely negotiate with debt collectors. They have been known to withdraw things from people's credit reports in exchange for payment. Especially if you play hardball and insist on seeing paperwork to prove they

Generally true, but harder to make this case for imaginary numbers, because we definitely didn't need them when we adopted them in the 16th century or whenever it was. We adopted them because we had already adopted the (very imaginary)

It's hard to see how you could blame this on idempotency - even the author's questionable definition[1]. He pretty much explains what went wrong in black and white: "Don't assume "unknown" means "good"

He makes a good point here though: if the threat of nuclear war stops NATO from intervening now, why wouldn't it stop them from responding to a relatively minor transgression? Do we expect Putin to believe that we won't risk nucle

I don't buy this. Once you get a country in the mood for war, the marginal cost to them of more war gets less and less. In for a penny/in for a pound as they say. If anything, I bet China has had to think twice about Taiwan after

I don't think that's cynical. It's almost certainly true that a lot of the positive news we're seeing is part of a deliberate propaganda campaign. But it's worth noting that 1. Propaganda is not necessarily untrue.

Most of the people they're talking about are either paid actors (or artists hoping to make a killing on NFTs). I mean, they literally make their living by reading a script in front of a camera. That's what they're famous for!

I think this is how it works in plain English: he bought the option to buy 200 * 100 TSLA shares at $1000 on or before the 28th (call options are always done in batches of 100). He paid $481k for this option. So he stood to make $20000 for
