I go into the "in depth" bits of how each browser "clicks" in a few talks but basically: - Cypress solves a much easier problem (no multiple tabs, no native actions no hovers etc). - Cypress does everything in JavaScri

I've compared a few thousand tests in each testing library from real companies and I've found Cypress to be with "as many defects as Selenium in real projects". Most of the other open source tools (not to mention enterpr

I think you can use Node.js (through tasks) in cypress. Agree with everything else though + the one time I opened an issue in their tracker (I asked a question about a crash in order to contribute!) they totally ignored me and then they ope

We wrote "cypress for playwright" recently in order to use it internally and decided to open source it. Basically we took a bunch of Testim code for screenshots/console logs/network etc and made a package out of it at h

Hey I wrote an open source tool that does #1 for Puppeteer and Playwright. I didn't bother doing videos since qawolf already wrote a plugin for that https://github.com/testimio/root-cause So both those things are

I wrote an article about Cypress vs. other open source alternatives (like puppeteer/playwright) in case anyone is interested. The tl.dr is that I didn't end up using Cypress https://www.testim.io/blog/puppetee

The thing making this easy in web pages is the _tooling_ though. The reason this is harder in Android than in web environments is that web tooling is just _very_ mature. Theoretically nothing is preventing you from exposing this functionali

I don't understand... All these things are possible in systems where no such separation exists. What happens in other systems is that you can ask the system for an accessibility tree (for instance) and get a DOM like tree (for example

I work in Testim.io and I want to say it's much easier to triage and fix e2e tests than unit tests in the CI when using such a platform. Most people just don't but lots of large companies like Microsoft and Salesforce do

There are many use cases for service workers you probably haven't heard of. For example at my last job (at a YC startup) we built a service worker that used P2P to serve mp4 video over WebRTC. It was the correct place to interop with t

Why assume it's a 0 sum game or try to regulate how people enjoy their free time? Isn't it much more effective to simply force ships to have much fewer emissions or offset them?
