I just wanted to weigh in that I am in the codespaces beta and it's working quite nicely! The experience is exactly what you'd expect, all the VSCode extensions mostly work and development is pretty smooth. The only bad part is that I (ironically) wish it felt more like an "App" and not a browser tab.
