So you are agreeing with the parent? If consumption has gone up a lot and input hours has gone down or stayed flat, that means you are able to work less.

We could probably argue to the end of time about the qualitative quality of life between then and now. In general a metric of consumption and time spent gathering that consumption has gotten better over time.

Agree and and I wonder what the cost tradeoff is using your old hardware or buying new power efficient equipment. I even recently thought about buying a mac mini to use as a home server.

This is a wild take imo. Yes, I am sure there there are definite cases of overreach and I generally sit squarely in the libertarian camp but most permits, studies, etc are there for a reason. Maybe you have lived in a developing nation but

Hard question to answer imo but at a high level I would argue that social media for folks under 18 is even more harmful than LLMs. It is quite fascinating and I hope more studies exist that look into why some folks are more susceptible to t

Fascinating. In a modern app I find that search quickly can become one of the most expensive aspects. It’s not trivial to implement on your own and with the growing effort on hybrid style search, the costs continue to grow. I love work like

The answer is probably more in the middle in that mass produced places more emphasis on the standardization. I imagine those Columbia cars were not build on an assembly line.

Why would you want it? Modern Evs I would assume are superior in both safety and design.

Which of those 30k was mass produced? The model t was seen as the first mass produced vehicle. I think when it obtained that classification it was producing around 200k annually.

If you don’t have anything productive to add don’t say it. I would put myself in the bridge between pre internet coders and the modern generation. I use these type of tools and don’t consider myself a vibe coder.

I agree in sentiment but if you spent any amount of time in finance, even outside of equity markets, you would have a pretty quick mental model that LLMs are a weird fit for this space.

This might be the dumbest thing I have ever seen but I am happy to be corrected and told why it’s not. I use LLMs a lot and I work in finance and I don’t see how a LLM benefits in this space. Also it looks like none of their data uses any k

The jammer argument is fair and I just assumed since other airports have different levels of counter measures that this is a possibility. These are targeted shots of jamming with distances that commercial flights should not be in. But yes d

It most likely is Russia but China is always worth considering. They have a strategic partnership and have been part of many probes into western nations both physical and digital. I would not doubt it’s Russia but I think it’s good to alway

It is but I would hope these entities are trying at least something and those jammers are cheap. In Paris they developed an electronic barrier wall for drones. Yes maybe these are autonomous enough that when the link is cut they continue on

Yup. At least in the prior case this year the airports all shutdown. I see no reason you should not be able to quickly react to a scenario like this? Most European airports have some sort of federal response in or near the airport anyway. N

They make hand helds that can be used without human LOS with something like 3km range. You don’t definitely need automated systems but obviously that would be probably more bullet proof.

I would not rule out China out either. Let’s not forget some of their recent state backed exploits as well as the “weather” balloon that flew over America.

Jammers work pretty well. I would expect most large airports would have a defense response. They would have the tools setup to one instantly identify and track said drones come within the space and two have the tools like the portable jamme

Alaska, Mongolia and Russia are extreme edge cases that I don’t believe hold much weight in an argument. It’s like those arguments where folks try to attack solar or wind, “solar won’t work on northern Alaskan winter”. Ok great that’s such

Gross margin along with ebitda are great ways to do quick views on a company from an investor standpoint. You don’t care about tax, interest depreciation because those things can easily change, you care about the core business. Gross margin
