Sounds like hyperbole. Yes the world is connected yes we are seeing shortages, yes the market is imperfect and it lags but this is how things get fixed. Prices are sorted out, manufacturers make bets on long term capacity. Some will be lose

Markets are never perfect but over the course of history they are a pretty good mechanism to solve these type of problems. Not sure why we think taxing hyperscalers differently is the answer. Government usually does worse than the market wh

Maybe the ban is overstepping but I still continue to not understand the issue. Rarely in the history of APIs has a commercial company wanted folks to use the private APIs.

Why tax something that the market will figure out? This is normal and things will sort themself out.

No disagreement. It just feels like increasingly it’s getting more cynical. It’s probably the case with most online communities but it’s a shame to see it so much here now.

Anyone else that has been outside in the past 10 years can see it. Doesn’t have to be dancing it can be eating in a restaurant, going to a public pool, walking down the street. Younger folks absolutely are feeling the sense of everything be

Glad you said it first. I thought it was particular comment length and then two back to back same minute comments to be strange.

My delivery could have been better. It was half satire and half a jab since it’s a self promoted post pointing out AI slop without much thought behind it. Even if human written it carries probably even less weight than an AI slop side proje

What I hate is people posting links to their blog post which upon viewing is really just an extended twitter sized rant.

No my statement was the usual joke that it’s always best to do the opposite of the herd. Once everyone is buying beanie babies the market is probably getting saturated. With all these bubble comments on HN I think it’s very much the same. I

Not sure what your story has to do with the discussion at hand. On average people do not beat the market, the market can be irrational longer than you are solvent but also most people probably have not done any modeling and so these are rea

I have long been a big proponent of micropayments. I wish more news sites tested it out. Heck any kind of site, don’t bother me with a notification that I am using an adblocker, just ask in same pop up for me to pay $0.1 to view the page or

Am I the only one perplexed why folks find this stunning or meaningful. While LLMs are novel and different in that the subscription gives you access to compute, it does not feel foreign from the subscription, free or paid, landscape. I cann

But shouldn’t search be responsible for reducing or at least ranking the results in such a way that no matter how many results you find what you are looking for in the top N? Using a hybrid of traditional and semantic is so trivial to imple

Of course everyone is ultimately responsible for what they purchase but with the commission earned on a few % off a 500k+ transaction I would expect them to do it.

I don’t think the math maths. The pay back for a new plant is minimum 7 years and that is not accounting for the time to build it. I suspect nobody is buying a 10 year forward purchase agreement.

No it’s not an easy fix. Manufacturers don’t have a good pulse on long term demand. The he capex to spin up a new manufacturing plant is significant. Especially with the recency of Covid where some folks did get caught with their pants down

Nope the only nastiness is how critical mean you are in your replies. All it takes is a quick hey I appreciate the article but not the use of a LLM to write it. None of the other words you have used are in the spirit here. Move along.

Ehhh I don’t know if this is really that true. Beyond painting the exterior it’s not like a stick frame is requiring constant rebuilding. There are a lot of variables at play and I am not sure the answer is to build stone houses like in par
