Do you have a point? The whole package is compelling like I already said. Nobody has replicated it but everyone likes to ask what is the value but never share a compelling competing product. I am not Boris so I still write some code or make

HN is a hellhole of either AI hate or hype. The fringes on either side are the loudest.

People keep saying this but I have yet to find an integrated system that has good tab completion, cheap coding models and works well in an IDE. There are a number of options out there, none of them have captured much market share.

I have no bone to pick on either side but there were a number of comments here about the footnotes to the pictures so I went to look up the source material and could not find good references to those footnotes so wanted to point out they th

Sorry if you did not read the comments here. Lots of folks were pushing back on the probably AI generated footnotes and story are in the original link. I was simply sharing the source material which I think has much better background on the

Could not say on the valuation front. The one thing that is obvious is the trash talkers love to point out how horrible it is but I have yet to find a compelling replacement. Obviously Claude Code works but at least for me I never got along

Hmmm. Not in my experience. I don’t think it can be compared to Haiku, maybe sonnet levels? It’s obviously not Opus and never was intended for that use case. I use it quite a bit and it works well and is extremely fast for the tasks it was

Lots of contention here around the narrative. The original link should be removed and replaced with the original source that has what’s seems to be accurate and different narratives for the pictures. The linked site seems to simply steal wh

Great? Too many variables such as not having to park on the street or bad/good luck. If you live somewhere that has street cleaning, street parking and meters there is a good chance of getting a ticket. Not everyone but the likelihood

If you live in a city, parking tickets are fairly inevitable. I am sure some folks get away with none but at least in SF I have gotten tickets that were not even for the correct meter and it’s takes more time (at least used to) to fight it

Again I don’t think it says anything. Yes inflation was worse during Covid and before I was born, that just sounds silly btw. There is no perspective to be frank, energy is up a lot, that will impact other goods over the next few quarters.

I don’t think that tells us anything. We already know 7% > than 4.2. This should already be a fact that inflation was worse during Covid. I don’t think know that inflation was worse in the 70s helps fixes the narrative that 4.2% inflatio

Zooming out in what sense? Those rolling charts don’t mean much imo. Year over year change is a pretty good perspective and a tick up like this is not great.

China is probably more capitalist in many respects than the west these days. AI, robotics and automation is a way to push into the future. In the west we have endless researchers stuck in a psychosis that they are talking to a sentient bein

Of course you have to consider confounders. That’s why transportation data usually includes best efforts. But at some point you have to look at the totality of the evidence. Countries with better road infrastructure, enforcement, vehicle st

Other than the data of road fatalities that disproves this anecdote, my own anecdote is this is the false sense of security people get in other countries that don’t have traffic laws. Oh see the people have to look all the time so it’s much

Not sure why this would downvoted. Go to a less developed nation where traffic laws are not important and it’s one of those sense of false security ideas.

I don't think so. It provides some nice optionality for Google and I am guessing this opportunity only exists because Grok is not popular and xAI does not really have any other use atm.

You missed the plot and are only reinforcing the point. Where in my comment was I saying SpaceX deserves an exception? I am just stating what I observe anytime Elon or one of his companies comes up, it devolves into the extremes. Sorry you
