I'm the original Zellij creator. I am and have long been a vim user. I created this tool originally for people like us. It has lots and lots of extra features and functionality (eg. opening the current pane scrollback inside your defau

Hey, Zellij dev here. I'll try to answer your questions: - regarding layouts/panes: the panes you configure in the layouts are still resizable a runtime. It just saves you the initial setup. In Zellij you also have a generic non-d

Hey, Zellij dev here. You should have no issue running emacs inside a Zellij pane. There might be some keybindings collisions, but you can always configure your way out of it if you like. In general the problem of colliding keybindings is a

Fair point, but this post was mostly to tell how things are today. And these days most (all?) terminals the reader will interact with would be ANSI.

True, and thanks for pointing this out. But this example is there to illustrate the basic relationship of shell<->terminal-emulator without going in to too much details that might confuse those readers for whom it is intended.

Thanks! Unfortunately not, but we're about to overhaul our configuration (we're migrating from YAML to KDL) and might create some sort of converter to further help people migrate.

Well - I think the idea is mostly to replace the collaboration aspects of Git. I mean - I think Git is great as a version control system, but feel it's a bit lacking when it comes to collaborating. I just don't think merge conflic

Thanks! Were you able to get screen to allow two different users to focus on two different panes in the same tab? As in, to see two different cursors and see each other typing in real time?

Cool! Would be especially interested in your feedback as someone who tried this before. I think a big difference is that you'll get to have two different cursors in the same tab (and are able to focus on different panes).

IMO the issue is not the capabilities of the terminal, but rather the culture around it. It is very often seen as a "leet" platform for hackers and advanced users. Its users looked at with respect and envy. Which is unhealthy for
