Are you talking for a quant role, or a SWE role in those companies? I can’t imagine how 10 years of experience as an SWE would be irrelevant for another SWE position, even if the industry is different.

I don’t believe that’s true. There a number of large, well funded “startups” that don’t do the traditional algorithm based interviews but still pay at or above that range.

Did you two move there for jobs? Do you have Italian citizenship? I’d love to make that move but AFAIK Italy doesn’t have a “digital nomad” visa like many other countries now have.

The thing that I don’t like about that stack is the absurd amount of cruft that comes with it. Take a look at the node_modules directory for just the React app. It’s huge! Combined with the boilerplate of the other parts of the stack, the a

That’s not at all what my comment meant. It’s done for legitimate purposes, for example knowing which apps to launch for a given ‘Intent’ or checking for the existence of Google Chrome to attempt to launch a Chrome Custom Tab. It’s normal f

FYI this is common if the report is referring to the Android app. Apps can scan the device for installed packages that have opted to be “visible”. This is particularly common for apps that attempt to prevent rooted users from using the app.
