TL;DR This unfortunate chain of events is rooted in licensing violation: https://github.com/minad/mimemagic/issues/97 Mimemagic got its MIME tables source generated from `freedesktop.org.xml` file, which is l

That is cool stuff! Does anyone know something like these in Ruby ecosystem? For heavily invested in RoR apps such rapid prototyping from `irb`/`pry` would be a day saver.

I don’t think about it as kind of waste, it is training to be mentally fit and ready when I find a better role or simply when bad times hit. Although 4 day trip interview is extreme, I would rather not go for unless they pay me. But things

Why do you think it is opened to the Internet? May be just a box behind a NAT calling home and/or be part of closed VPN swarm. I would love to hear how the management part got implemented.

It depends on customer base. This is B2B solution so I assume when she picks up the phone the caller is someone who values own time. That way she can hear about frequent needs of users who don't buy the thing when it lacks some essenti

Also as this is managed solution, I would offer encrypted offsite "cloud" storage. Any part of the box fails? Send over a new one the next day which will automatically pull all saved data once the login/password is typed on t

GPL does not protect against SaaS provider creating derivative as there is no further distribution of binary or source code. Only AGPL (and other more strict licenses) addresses SaaS derivatives issue.

Long-term freelancing, or I would call it B2B contract employee , is also the only way to work remotelly for abroad company. Unfortunatelly EU has no means of cross-border employment yet other than establishing local subsidiary company. I

Shipping also covers cost of packaging. If you order 1 pc they need tiny box with some protective wrapping, the different one for 10, 20 pcs. Sometimes some extra filler is needed. Product margin is none to cover such costs unless you buy
