I don't think the equipment to receive weather updates is on the Minimum Equipment List, but if dispatch couldn't even update over the radio then I would imagine they would start diverting flights. This is just a guess, hopefully

Each commercial flight in the US is required to file a flight plan before takeoff. This flight plan is created and approved by an FAA licensed dispatcher, who then tracks the progress of the flight and develops alternative routing as necess

Classically, you have gastroenteritis (stomach flu) and appendicitis both presenting with stomach pain, or myocardial infarction and heart burn both presenting with chest pain. A policy like this will result in deaths for those that occupy

Incidentally, that's about the amount my wife paid for a covered visit to an ER with a legitimate reason in the US. Doesn't matter if she had gone in with toe pain or a GSW, it still would have been the $100 copay plus whatever co

My completely uneducated guess is a networking rule that wasn't properly validated or tested, and black-holed all traffic destined to 0.0.0.0/0 or similar.

Page 44 has Thomas’s dissent with Alito concurring. Worth a read as well, even just to see the opposing arguments.

Just tried from a residential connection on a Macbook. Only about a quarter of the images loaded, with the rest reporting a 429 error. Browsing to other pages afterwards shows me the "Access has been restricted" warning.

IP multicast only works over the broadcast domain, so VLANing off the speakers would work. You’d need multicast routing enabled on your routers to move multicast traffic between VLANs.

First off, thanks to the authors for making it clear that this is a difficult attack vector to exploit. I'm tired of sites like these that make it seem like it's the end of the world. As this is a timing based attack, I wonder wha

My guess is a greater percentage of users find SO questions from organic searches or third party links rather than within SO itself. An obsolete flag would need to be prominent to dissuade users from following answers anyways. I think requi

That seems to be the exact opposite of their stated policy position on CDA 230[0]. I don't see anything about how they support private sites losing protections for removing speech hosted on the platform. Do you have a source for your c

I'll say for sims, (both flight and racing) the immersion and ability to move your view hands-free make VR well worth it. At this point I can't imagine going back to regular monitors for DCS. I do agree that there is significant p

Ha, I drive a VW. Next time I'm at the dealership I should swing by the parts department and see if I can get it delivered to the US. Gotta get the ketchup and plate too.

In a similar vein, when an F18 is launched from a carrier deck the pilot holds a handle rather than the joystick. This is because the flight computer manages the flight controls immediately after the catapult launch, and if the pilot was ha

Not a big surprise, especially after having spoken to a few people that have worked at Zynga before. High turnover of employees, quality over quantity, etc. Can't say I'll miss their products or their techniques.
