It started by taking over regulation of pipelines in the 1910s. That seems like a logical step to me, but over time their purview has expanded to O&G plants and energy production. They aren’t responsible for public utilities, but a lot

In response to your tangent, I’ll note that this took place in one of the reddest states in the US. This isn’t endemic in the tech industry so much as it is in large corporations. Check the back office of your largest suppliers and you’ll h

I interned at a large insurance agency on their corporate security team. My task for the summer was to setup a third party service that integrated with their Jira install. This was all done in their test environment, with nothing touching p

Getting my EMT cert was pretty important for getting a job as an EMT. In all seriousness the difference between getting hired for my tech jobs vs as an EMT was interesting. I’m used to the standard multi week interview process, but for EMS

There used to be a policy that children could collect a bag of chestnuts and exchange them for free Haribo at the factory or office in Germany. It was nominally to feed the deer or horses on the Riegels’ estate. I went to school in Bad God

That’s a specific setting, under Settings > Dock & Menu Bar > Double-click a window’s title bar to zoom | minimize. It should default to zoom on a fresh install.

This would be actually helpful practice for first responders. FDs/EMS in my area are expected to memorize all of the streets in their region, and I imagine it’s the same for PDs too. Another layer on top of it would be to quiz you on h

MSFS 2020 natively inserts traffic based on ADS-B feeds, and there are addons that do the same for Xplane too. It lends a certain level of realism, especially if you live under the flight path of the airport you're flying around in the

This seems like a perfect use case for wild card certs, especially if you have internal sites on a different (sub) domain from your prod servers. Yes, multiple servers have the same private key, but when the alternative is self-signed or no
